The Co-signers tab in the Fireblocks Console flags an API Co-signer when a newer version is available. Select Upgrade to open a dialog with the current version, the latest version, the installation script, and the upgrade instructions. You run the upgrade on the machine or cloud environment where the Co-signer is installed.

How you know a newer version is available

In the Co-signers tab, the version of an outdated Co-signer appears in red with an error icon. An Upgrade link appears next to it. Hover over the icon to see “A newer version is available. Upgrading is highly recommended.” You can also select the three-dot menu of the Co-signer and then select Upgrade. Fireblocks recommends using the latest version. Upgrading gives you the newest features and improvements.

Before you start

The indicator appears only for a Co-signer that reports its type and version. Older Co-signer builds do not report them, so they do not show the indicator. Confirm that you can access the machine or the cloud environment where the Co-signer runs.

Upgrade a Co-signer

  1. In the Fireblocks Console, go to Developer center > Co-signers.
  2. Find the Co-signer with the red version.
  3. Select Upgrade. A dialog opens that shows the current version and the latest version.
  4. Select release notes to review the changes.
  5. Select installation script to copy the installation script link.
  6. Select upgrade instructions and follow the steps for your Co-signer type:
  7. Monitor the Co-signer logs to confirm that the Co-signer starts with the new version.
  8. In the dialog, select Got it.
The upgrade uses your existing configuration and keeps all paired API users.

Things to know

You can also download the installation package from Settings > General > API co-signer. After the upgrade, the Co-signer shows its new version in the Co-signers tab, and the red indicator disappears. Version history: For the rest of the Co-signers tab, see The Co-signer management tab.
