Register your Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) to appear as a verified entity when counterparties look up your addresses in Address Registry. An LEI is a standardized 20-character code, maintained by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), that identifies a legal entity across jurisdictions. Registering is optional if you only want to look up others. It is required to return verified data to counterparties and to use Address Registry in your compliance policy. If you do not have an LEI, Fireblocks can help you obtain one from a partner during setup in the Console. Register with POST /legal_entities. It requires the Admin or Non-Signing Admin role, and accepts an optional Idempotency-Key header.
Fireblocks validates the LEI against GLEIF, and reviews the registration. A workspace can register several legal entities. While an LEI is denied or revoked, your addresses appear to counterparties as unverified, as they did before you registered, until you resubmit and Fireblocks approves it. When Fireblocks approves your first LEI, every vault account maps to that entity by default. If you register more entities, assign specific vault accounts to them with Assign vault accounts to a legal entity. An explicit assignment takes precedence over the default, and each vault account can belong to at most one legal entity.
